People are getting busier and a single sim is just not enough for them. Gone are the days when people used to rely on 2 different cell phones, sure it felt good to carry two phones but, it sure felt a little uncomfortable to carry two phones in the pocket. Various phone manufacturing companies have brought Dual Sim phones, but one of the most complacent players in the cell phone market still manages to hold up its reputation with a “windows come back”. Adding to the update regarding the launch of the Lumia 530, Nokia has also decided to launch Lumia 530 Dual SIM edition. This phone is similar to the Lumia 530, but as the name suggests, there will be extra room for another Sim card. This phone too, is going to go easy on your pocket and its features are going to make you happy. The Lumia 530 Dual Sim (also known as Nokia Lumia 350 RM-1019) was launched on 23rd July (2014) and is available for Rs. 7349 (nokia’s store). In other online stores, it is available at a lesser price.
Design and Build Quality:
The 530 Dual Sim has a 4 inch 480 x 854 FWVGA LCD display, with a pixel density of 245 pixels per inch, It not going to be very clear, but for its budget, it would certainly serve your purpose. It weighs just 129 grams, not too bulky and it slides right into your pocket. The phone will not have rich colors, but for a VGA display, the 16 million colors are going to look sharp and quite impressive. The phone has a TFT capacitative touch screen and supports Multi touch gestures and features. It is exactly the same as the Lumia 520, it is made out of plastic (no sign of metal on this phone) but, it doesn’t feel like cheap plastic because of its sturdy design and high quality plastic. Users can get a huge variety of brightly colored Lumia 530 body panels just as the Lumia 520 in the form of Bright Orange, Bright Green, White, and Dark Grey etc.
This phone is just an extended version of the Lumia 530 and doesn’t have any extra prominent features except for the Dual Sim Slot. The phone is powered by a Microsoft based Windows Phone OS 8.1, with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 chipset with 512 MB RAM. The phone has a Quad-core 1.2 Giga Hertz (GHZ) CPU and an Adreno 302 GPU (Graphic Processing Unit) to boast about. Lumia 530 Dual SIM phone supports SMS (threaded view), MMS, Email, Push Email and IM. To jingle things up, the phone has been graced with an FM Radio and it has inbuilt GPS too (A-GPS, Glonass),. Please note that this phone does not support Java. Nokia has also added an Accelerometer in the Lumia 530 Dual SIM version. A few more prominent features that come in the delightfully small Lumia 530 are; Active noise cancellation with a dedicated mic, 15 Giga Bites of free One Drive Storage, A Document Viewer, Voice memo, Voice dial, Voice command compatible and also a Photo & Video Editor plus MP3/WAV/EAAC+/Wma Player.
Battery and Talk Time:
The 530 Dual sim has the same Li-ion 1430 mAh battery (BL-5J) which lasts up to 528 hours (on standby), a talk time of about 13 hours and 20 minutes on 2G and up to 10 hours on 3G. Nokia claims that the battery would last for about 51 hours on music play. There is no difference with the battery back up on both phones.
Network and Connectivity:
The Nokia Lumia 530 supports 2G and 3G networks. The 2G Network works on GSM 850/900/1800/1900 bands, while the 3G network works on HSDPA 850/900/1900/2100 Bands. 3G connection works at a speed of speed of 21mbps (HSDPA) and 5.76Mbps (HSUPA). It has GPRS support backed with EDGE (up to 236.8 kbps) and a WLAN Support (Wi-FI 802.11 b/g/n, Wi-Fi hotspot). The phone has Bluetooth connectivity (v4.0, A2DP) and it also supports a Micro USB (v2.0). The main difference lies in the Dual Sim version is that it has Dual Stand-By.
Camera and Multimedia:
Backed with just a primary 5MP (2592 x 1936 pixels) fixed focus camera that has a ¼’ sensor size, the camera in the phone can shoot decent quality photos and 480p videos @ 30fps. The camera comes preloaded with digicam addons like Bing Vision, Nokia Camera and Nokia Glam Me. The phone also has Photo & Video Editor and a music player which can play MP3/WAV/EAAC+/Wma formats. In addition, a 3.5 mm standard jack also is available in the phone. There is an internal MicroSD card slot that support card up to 128 GB and in addition, the phone has an inbuilt memory of 4GB with 512 MB RAM.
Considering a Dual Sim, it has dual benefits than the Single SIM Lumia 530 It costs Rs. 7349 only. (prices vary on different sites). Although, the features are the same as the Lumia 530, the dual sim feature is definitely note worthy and its better having a Dual SIM slot better than a single SIM slot right?
