LG G4: Featuring Snapdragon 808 Chipset, 16MP Primary Shooter and 5.5 inch QHD Screen
Looks like Samsung Galaxy S6 and HTC One M9+ is going to have tough competition. The LG G4 is here to dethrone you from the top of the Android Ladder. Equipped with an improvised 5.5 inch Quad HD (QHD or 2K) IPS display and 16MP camera G4 has all what it needs to be the top contender for the top spot among Android Phones. An optional Leather wrapping provides the necessary premium feel too.
Design and display:
Like mentioned earlier, LG G4 has one of the nest display screens in mobile phones which is 5.5 inches in size. The QHD or 2K screen has 2560 x ,440-pixels resolution which results in a pretty impressive 534 ppi which is just short of 577ppi which is seen in Samsung Galaxy S6. LG confirms that the display in G4 has its contrast improved by 50% from its predecessor, LG G3 and that it is 25% brighter as well. The company also boasts that the new phone has a wider colour range (20% to be precise) than its predecessors with 2K screens. The phone is 76 mm wide and 149mm tall. Another attractive aspect is the optional availability of a leather back which has the required finesse to provide that premium feel.
Hardware and other features:
Armed with 3GB of RAM and a hexa-core Qualcomm the phone is well equipped to power the camera and graphics with a very good display. There is only a 3000mAh battery (thankfully, it is a removable one) and the battery performance is one deciding factor for the phone’s success. . The 16MP camera is good to take pictures in in dimly light conditions due to the f/1.8 aperture. The sensor also is a better one and the camera boasts of OIS (optical image stabilization). It is an autofocus camera. The 8MP front camera can surely wow the selfie lovers. The 32GB internal storage is good enough too.
LG G4 comes with UX 4.0 UI which is based on runs Android 5.1 Lollipop OS. The improvement in the new user interface includes a LG Bulletin which shows all the favourite widgets of yours in the homes screen page. On the camera front, this phone has a lot of interesting features which can capture the attention of users like white balance adjust, focus adjust and brightness adjust. You can also adjust the ISO levels of white balance. The camera allows you to shoot either in the raw or JEPG format. The introduction of guesture triggered timers in the front camera makes taking selfies interesting.
Our view on the LG G4 is that it is a well-built phone with all the right touches which can woo the people. Be it the camera, the superior display or the leather finish on the back, everything about this phone is a class apart and it can easily compete with the likes of Galaxy S6 with much ease, provided the battery is good enough. LG G4 price in India is not yet announced, but it is also a deciding factor which can make or break this phone on the acceptance front.
