ASUS ZENFONE AR: Premium Handset Offering AR and VR Enhancements
Here is an innovative handset from Asus that aims at bringing virtual reality and augmented reality platforms together. While the price point seems to be on the higher side, the feature sets are certainly worth having a look at.
Design and Display:
ASUS ZENFONE AR flaunts a beefed up chassis primarily made up of plastic. The faux leather rear panel looks decent enough for the existing price tag. This handset weighs 170 grams and measures 8.95mm in thickness.
The 5.7 Inch Super AMOLED screen is extremely vibrant and exhibits a display resolution of 2560x1440 pixels. The Corning Gorilla Glass 4 layer renders added safety to the 2K panel.
Under the hood, Asus shelters Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 821 chipset clocking at 2.3GHz. The Adreno 530 GPU is also a decent addition clubbed with 8 gigs of RAM. Internal storage limit for this gadget is 128GB which can be further extended up to 2TB.
ASUS ZENFONE AR offers a 23MP rear shooter clubbed with OIS, EIS and the innovative TriTech Auto focus technology. An 8MP front snapper is also at the helm featuring a wide view f/2.0 lens aperture and a host of other features.
This gadget brings Android Nougat 7.0 straight out of the closet with the Zen UI v3.0, sitting atop.
Connectivity and Add Ons:
This is one 4G LTE equipped handset with Dual SIM compatibility. Other specs include Bluetooth v4.2, built in music player with SonicMaster 3.0 technology and a wide range of utilitarian features.
Powering the same is a sizeable, 3300mAh battery unit clubbed with fast charging flexibility.
Although this handset is priced higher as compared to some of its contemporaries, it is still a great demo device offering mobile VR and AR support.
