Donning yet another “sleek and powerful” armour came the iPad Air 2. Making its grand appearance on the 16th of October 2014, Apple introduced the iPad Air 2 to the world of apple fanatics. Joining the league was the iPad mini 3 as well that had its own tricks.
The second generation iPad tablets are finally here and they come in an ultra-thin profile that is just 6.1 mm thick and this beats the original iPad Air that was 7.5 mm. Significantly thinner doesn’t necessarily mean that this iPad should be safe (it still raises concern like the iPhone 6+ bending issues) this iPad has laminated display panel that gives the user much sharper images than before. The thinner chassis looks mighty impressive but shares similarities with the older iPads.
Magic is exactly what happens within the iPad air 2, with 675k whooping apps that are designed especially for this thin and light package, it is another level of comfort that the user is going to experience. With the new Retina Display at work that comes along with anti-reflective coating this second generation iPad is surely a major comeback by Apple.
The iPad Air 2 is powered by a 64-bit A8X chip that happens to Apple’s new chip invention. The new chip delivers 40% more enhanced improvement in its CPU performance. The graphic performance will hence increase by 2.5 % beating the previous iPads in a jiffy. Users can now play all the games, access websites, use as many apps as they can.
This tablet that comes with Metal™ that is the newest graphics technology with apple’s latest iOS 8.1, the Air-2’s A8X chip brings you closer to the realistic visual effects comparable to the most advanced gaming consoles. The iPad Air 2 also has the M8 motion coprocessor inbuilt that is responsible for gathering motion data from the iPad’s Accelerometer sensor, Gyroscope as well as Compass. This iPad features the all new Barometer that senses air pressure and in turn provides relative elevation.
The new iPad Air comes with the latest iOS 8.1 that includes the Continuity feature across the iOS 8 and the OSX Yosemite that enables your apple devices to work together seamlessly without any mishaps. Handoff capability on this tablet allows the user to start a particular task on one device and easily pass it on to the other device. In case you get a phone call on your iPhone, and if both your iPhone and iPad are connected onto the same Wi-Fi network, you can attend the call from your iPad (really cool feature).
This engineered marvel called the iPad Air 2 has unmatched potential and provides ultimate portability combined with user friendliness. Its custom designed anti-reflective coating can reduce the unwanted glares on its glass by a massive 56% and this makes it easy to view your iPad’s screen hassle free indoors and outdoors. The new iPad also has Touch ID that unlocks the tablet with the touch of your finger. Although this feature is found on the iPhones, this seems like a new addition to the iPads. The Touch ID can securely allow users to purchase apps and games from Apple’s App Store.
Design and Display:
The beautiful iPad Air 2 is designed for more and its unique uni-body enclosure that contains anodized aluminium provides high durability and provides a very solid feel. A 6.1 mm thin iPad Air is most certainly more slender than any iPad. It can be held in one hand all day long and you won’t feel a thing. But, its light weight is not the only important aspect, what’s inside is what really matters.
The 9.7 inch display with 2048 x 1536 pixels resolution is sharp and very clear, it pronounces clarity with every pixel and there are three separate layers of the display that have been fused into a single one and this makes it look thinner and provides the perfect clarity and contrast. The colours seem pretty natural and the anti-reflective coating on the Air 2 makes it easier to view the contents on display making it quite an intimate user experience.
Weighing much less than a pound, the iPad Air 2 will be made available in three different colours; gold, silver and space gray.
Battery backup has been a strong point in most apple products (Mac, iPad’s etc) and this new iPad has the ability to keep the user hooked on to the screen for 10 solid hours in a single charge. Although, this iPad has a better performing CPU, it still manages to please the consumer with 10 hours of battery life. With all the new apps and games available 10 hours back up seems absolutely delightful.
The new iPad Air 2 features faster connectivity options and proves its worth of being the second generation contender. Built with an agile and rapid 802.11ac Wi-Fi along with Multiple-In-Multiple-Out (MIMO) technology that makes the Wi-Fi performance up to 2.8 times faster, the performance on the iPad Air 2 rates at around 866 Mbps.
The iPad has various innovations including the new and improved iSight as well as the Face Time HD camera on the tablet that is better than ever. Built with an 8MP sensor and advanced optics in the iSight camera, this tablet helps the user capture rich and fine detailed images and videos along with panoramic photos, time-lapse video, slo-mo and 1080p HD video. The new Facetime HD (5 MP) camera can capture around 80% more light than before. The Air 2’s camera features burst mode as well as HDR more for videos and snaps. There are thousands of apps ready to download on the store that utilizes your iPad’s camera with ultimate precision and productivity. Your iPad can also annotate and scan your documents; it can also study the sky above and provide you with the athletic performance analysis all with a simple tap
