Alcatel X1: Typical Smartphone with a Few Thrills
Alcatel’s X1 is a typical mid-range smartphone which is priced above its league. Presently listed over some of the leading online retail stores, this handset is certainly not the cheapest in its category even with a smallish power module at the helm. Some features look good and it will now be interesting to take a closer look at the existing specs sheet:
Alcatel X1 offers a 5-Inch Super AMOLED screen with 1280x720 pixels, in terms of resolution. The HD panel is protected by Dragontrial Glass. Dual-SIM support is available in addition to 3G and 4G LTE connectivity. Other specs include Wireless compatibility, GPS and Bluetooth v4.0. Acoustics are taken care of by the Hi-Fi audio enhancement with Arkamys Tech and Cirrus Logic. A 3.5mm audio jack is also on-board.
Alcatel X1 doesn’t justify the existing price point owing to the obsolete version Android i.e. Lollipop v5.1. The 2,150mAh battery module isn’t a handy deal from Alcatel. Moreover, a HD display at the given price point is actually disappointing.
Unique Selling Points
Alcatel does offer a few thrills like a slimmer chassis, measuring 6.99mm in thickness. In terms of aesthetics, this smartphone flaunts an ‘anodized aluminum frame’. Qualcomm’s 64-Bit Snapdragon 415 SoC is available working in unison with an Octa-Core processor and Adreno 405 GPU. 2GB RAM is designated to this smartphone besides 16GB of internal storage limit. Alcatel offers a 13MP rear facing camera unit with Dual-Tone LED Flashlight support and 5P lens. The 5MP selfie shooter with f/2.0 aperture is certainly one of the best additions. Lastly, this smartphone throws in the high-end ‘Eye-D’ Unlock System.
