Sony is a known manufacturer of some of the finest versatile cameras. Following the same legacy enters the Cyber shot DSC RX100 M3 Digital Camera. Here is a review on this camera:
First off, the Cyber shot DSC-RX100 M3 features a large 20.1-megapixel 1" Exmor R CMOS sensor to produce high-resolution still imagery and full HD video. The sensor’s design on this camera utilizes backside-illuminated technology to improve clarity and image quality when working in dim conditions. The performance booster on this camera is the BIONZ X image processor that helps produce images with smooth quality and tonal gradations as well as provide expedited performance throughout all aspects of the camera, including a continuous shooting rate of 10 fps in Speed Priority mode, shutter release lag of 0.008 sec., and XAVC S movie recording at 50 Mbps. The camera has built-in Zeiss Vario-Sonnar T* 2.9x zoom lens with a focal length of 24-70 mm in 35-mm terms. The lens covers wide-angle to portrait-length perspectives to suit working in a wide variety of environments.
An f/1.8-2.8 maximum aperture benefits working in low lighting and controlling focus throughout the zoom range. The camera carries Optical Steady Shot image stabilization that helps minimize the appearance of camera shake while working in low light conditions. The camera also benefits a built-in 3-stop ND filter that is incorporated into the camera’s design to suit shooting in bright conditions with wider apertures and for greater control over how movement is depicted. This camera also has features such as built-in Wi-Fi connectivity along with NFC connectivity. These connectivity options help instant transfer of images to mobile devices and such. The camera supports Play Memories Camera App that syncs up with Wi-Fi and allows the user to personalize the camera's features depending on specific shooting styles.
Design and Display:
The RX100 M3 carries quite a sleek body that features both an electronic viewfinder and a tilting LCD screen. The camera features a 1440k-dot SVGA OLED Tru-Finder has Zeiss T*-coated optics that provides a bright and clear way for eye-level viewing. This compact camera comes with a 3.0-inch screen that is no ordinary display. It is a 1229k-dot Xtra Fine LCD that incorporates White Magic technology for easier visibility in bright conditions and its tilting design permits greater usability from high, low, and front-facing angles. This is a TRILUMINOS Colour display that naturally produces rich, natural colors when imagery is viewed on a TRILUMINOS Display. The camera measures 4.0 x 2.3 x 1.6 inches and weighs 279 grams (with battery and card). The camera comes with an AC adapter along with a USB cable that permits in-camera charging. The camera supports a Lithium-ion battery pack that lasts for a decent amount of time.
With plenty of features packed into a sleek body, the camera sure feels in-line with the current trend. Sadly, the camera feels a tad unbalanced without an accessory grip. Also, there are plenty of fixed-lens cameras that cost less and provide the same features as the RX100 M3.
