Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ1000 REVIEW:

Panasonic Lumix FZ1000: Compact Camera Featuring 4K Receptivity

Perfect cameras have turned elusive; the reason being too much clutter across the interface followed by feature sets which may stay unvisited for the entire duration.  Striking the perfect balance between the needs and provisions is thus an important factor with the Panasonic Lumix FZ1000 readily achieving the same! Be it the near perfect specs sheet or the long zoom capabilities, the compact camera does everything which the DSLRs can do but at a strikingly lower price. One may also look to do away with the additional clutter featured by the DSLRs in the form of a populated mode dial sporting features which may never come out as the pertinent ones.

In Panasonic Lumix FZ1000 we did find a quality option to replace those digital camera needs as the hyped 1 inch sensor does attract a lot of positive vibes. One may also bask under the usefulness of the larger aperture which readily widens the coverage angle in addition to the JPEG image recording. 4K videos can be shot, as claimed by the company and this review would surely allow the potential buyers to get a true picture of the same. This camera boasts of high-end versatility which is quite capable of producing superior quality images.

Look and Feel:

The Lumix FZ1000 is slightly heavier than most of the contemporaries owing to the larger sensor which needs to be sheltered with perfection. Longer lens can be seen albeit smaller apertures are covered at those 25mm allotment. The sturdiness and solidarity is something great to look at but this isn’t that heavy and can be carried around with ease. Plastic covering and feel may not go down well with some enthusiastic individuals but we weren’t disappointed as it didn’t feel cheap or low-end by any stretch of imagination. SLR styling is the underlining concept behind the structure which can boast of the chunky grip and extremely liberal buttons for a direct access. While the mode dial sits atop the device, the shutter priority modes can be accessed with seamless ease followed by a few touches. 22 digital filters can be easily accessed which in turn provide the needed digitized feel and the Miniature effect.

As expected the Lumix FZ1000 comes with a fantastic metering system as integrated with the fabled multi-functionality. Perfect exposures can be looked at as one can readily go about minimizing the antialiasing effects with ease. Be it the overly exposed foreground or changing the AF point as per the requirements, this camera comes out trumps with every feature covered with effective ease. One may also take care of the dynamic ranges which do factor in certain tonal variations but within the specified limit. Boosting systems are integrated within but the impact is quite a subtle one and in sync with the latest HDR requirements. JPEG only interface goes up to the maximum +3EV which is an extremely encouraging attribute. Colors are on the straighter lines whereas the multiple styling options do contribute towards the resourcefulness of this device. Be it the scenery modes or the Vivid styling option, the Lumix FZ1000 packs in every single detail with utmost care. Automatic While Balance can also be taken care of which also takes care of the varied environmental specs. ISO ranges are quite exhaustive as the 125-12800 is certainly an encouraging drawer. This can also be pushed to the elusive ISO 25600 at the low-light conditions but one may find softer edges at the forefront. Stippled texture isn’t something to be elated about but at 100 percent on screen resolution we did lose out a few details. Noise and chromatic aberrations can be combated with ease while the AF points are extremely sharp and include the basis points in the best of ways.

Capture Quality:

The camera bridges a 1 inch sensor which features the 20MP unit for professional use. This CMOS sensor comes out with innovative and sharp images where the details are restored up to a considerable level. The video recording prowess is something to be proud of as 4K videos at 3840x2160 can be recorded with ease. This seems to be mode of a luxury as the Lumix FZ1000 can also capture at 1080p without reaching the tipping point.

While the zoom range is kind of excellent, the framing needs are usually well taken care of. A sturdy exterior comes good but we would have preferred the gadget to be a bit sleek so as to incorporate with ease. Overall a great bet if you are willing to go beyond the DSLR fiasco while emphasizing on the Focus peaking display norms.
