The Digic 4 processor powers the Canon IXUS 140 and it comes coupled with iSAPS Technology Image Processor. The camera has a 8x optical zoom and 16x zoom plus with 4x digital zoom. This camera is commanded with a 16 Megapixel sensor. The camera offers the users varied choices to experiment with. There are a couple of filters that the user can adjust manually. It carries an aperture of f/3.2 - f/6.9 Aperture. The camera has a ½.3 type CCD sensor with iSaps technology. The focal length of the lens is 5.0 – 40 mm that is equivalent too 28-224 mm.
The camera has various basic functions that are suited for the novice users. It has a few features like Live mode that allows real time adjustments, help button that guides through settings and functions and an Auto mode for changing settings. This camera has Wi-Fi connectivity that can be used to share photos. It also has an ECO mode that limits the usage of battery to an extent that it gives more back up. The display is not touch screen but it provides rich and vibrant images. The camera is lightweight and slim even after the battery and card are inserted. The buttons are large and visible and are accessible when used with a single hand. The camera measures 95.4 (W) x 56 (H) x 20.6 (D) mm and weighs 133 grams. The Function button is placed in the middle with mode select, eco mode, flash and display buttons. The power, shutter, zoom controls are placed on the top plate. Overall, the build quality is pretty good and this camera is pretty handy.
