Samsung Galaxy J2 (2016): Entry-Level Handset with Built-In Smart Glow Ring
The Galaxy J2 (2016) from Samsung has finally surfaced and it stacks in a pretty mediocre specs sheet barring the new ‘Smart Glow Notifier’. While we have now seen a golden render of the same, other colors are also in the pipeline. As per the specs sheet, this gadget brings in the latest version of Android followed by an underwhelming set of internals. Let us take a closer look at the existing set of specifications:
Samsung Galaxy J2 (2016) offers a 5-Inch screen that is perfectly supported by 1280x720 pixels, in terms of resolution. The HD panel boasts of life-like visuals and decent viewing angles. Moving on, we get Android Marshmallow v6.0 straight out of the box. Powering the same is a standard battery module. This handset offers a new feature that is exclusive of Samsung’s body of work i.e. the Smart Glow Notification Ring sitting pretty at the back. This offering can glow in different colors depending upon the situation in hand like receiving text messages, phone calls, emails and a lot more. Smart Glow Ring will also notify the user of low battery condition and glow blue once the face is focused on while clicking selfies, via the rear shooter. Other specs include an 8MP primary shooter with flashlight support and a 5MP front facing unit. This handset offers 3G and Wireless connectivity followed by Bluetooth v4.1 and the GPS.
This Quad-core processor isn’t the best deal on display and works in cohesion with the Mali-400MP2 GPU.
