Nokia Lumia 510 Review

  • Advantages: Low Price, 4 inch screen.
  • Disadvantages: 800 MHz processor, no external storage, low 256 MB RAM
  • Design and Looks: Nokia Lumia 510 is a low priced windows 7.5 OS phone from Nokia which is poor in performance and doesn't make an impression in the Windows Phone 7.5 line up. The only advantage is the pricing. The phone comes with a 4 inches TFT capacitive touchscreen featuring 800 x 480 pixels of resolution with ~233 ppi pixel density. The phone lacks Gorilla Glass protection.
  • Hardware and Software: Lumia 510 is poor performer when coming to hardware. RAM is only 256 MB and runs on 800 MHz Cortex-A5 processor which is a very old in the Cortex Processor Family. OS is the Windows Phone 7.5 upgradable to Windows Phone 7.8, which is pretty good. Main disadvantage for the Windows Phone is the lack of sufficient number of supporting Apps. Graphics is supported by Adreno 200 which is also is a draw back and the phone has Qualcomm MSM7227A Snapdragon chipset.
  • Camera, Music and Multimedia: Nokia has put a 5 MP rear camera and has failed to install a Front camera which is a big disadvantage to this phone.
  • Internal and External Storage: The phone comes with 4 GB internal storage and sadly there is no option for external storage. This phone is not for heavy media storage.
  • Connectivity Options: The phone can work on Quad band 2G and Dual Band 3G, 3G is via HSDPA, HSUPA. Other Connectivity options include v2.1 with A2DP, EDR, microUSB v2.0 and Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n.
  • Battery and Talk Time: The phone comes with Standard Li-ion 1300 mAh battery, providing talk time Up to 8 hours (2G) / Up to 6 hours (3G) which is OK and standby time Up to 739 hours (2G) / Up to 653 hours (3G).
  • Our Verdict: It is a low priced phone but has some very low end features as well.
  • Compare Nokia Lumia 510 with Sony Xperia Tipo, Nokia Lumia 610, Nokia Lumia 800 Nokia Lumia 710.
