Note: Microsoft Lumia 535 price in India is Rs. 9199/-. We feel that the phone is a good buy at this price with 1GB RAM and Quad core processor, but the low resolution display can be a problem.
Microsoft Lumia 535 Dual SIM: Skips the Nokia Brand Name
The latest Microsoft Lumia 535 Dual SIM is the first of its kind to do away with the Nokia brand name with the Microsoft logo is all set to make an appearance. The emphasis has been on the overall build of the gadget with a thing or two dedicated towards the resourcefulness of the same. Microsoft Lumia 535 will be available in the Single SIM and Dual SIM Versions, but the Dual SIM version will be the first to reach India.
Build and Design:
The plastic build is all set to make a stay which is kind of durable and comes in with the feathery feel. The dimensions are quite in sync with the previous iterations and the leaks suggest that the thickness is set to be slotted at 9.32mm. The removable shell set over the unibody layout is something elusive and the purported polycarbonate feel is more of an innovative touch. The weight is also quite manageable with a mere 146g added into the mix.
The phone comes with the latest Windows Phone 8.1 with Denim Update. Switching between the tiles and applications is certainly easy now whereas the usage is extremely flexible as well. Possibility of upgrade to Windows 10 is not known, but be assured that you will get all the goodies associated with Microsoft Office package comes along free with the present OS.
In comes the 5 inch panel which is more of a respectable value point. The latest Lumia 535 is all set to assume a vibrant form with the LCD panel which involves the qHD resolution for general use. The offered resolution at 960x540 pixels is certainly a bit low but the viewing angles do make the panel look crisp and vibrant, atleast the renders suggest the same. The display has Sunlight readability enhancements and is kept safe from accidental scratches with Corning Gorilla Glass 3.
The processor is something which makes the device extremely functional and also determines the way the gadget handles multiple jobs. The Lumia 535 Dual SIM includes the Snapdragon 200 chipset which clocks at an average 1.2GHz. This being a Quad-Core chipset assumes a better form and easily handles low-end games and multiple windows opened along. The app drawer seldom lags and the performances are extremely pacey as well.
The Lumia 535 Dual SIM as per the leaks introduces only 1GB of RAM which still looks quite enough for handling the processor and chipset requirements. This works in sync with the internal storage scheme which is set at a staggering 8GB which can further be expanded using the micro-SD slot up to 128GB. The whole of 8GB isn't available for general use as the OS takes up a lot of space in addition to the plethora of pre-installed applications.
The 5MP unit at the rear acts as the Primary camera which comes in with the built-in flash. This module is all set to be an autofocus unit which would effectively determine the face detecting specs in auto mode while taking care of other camera suites. We aren't expecting a full HD capturing option but the 720p looks quite likely whereas the front snapper is also a 5MP unit which is more of an advantage to this device.
The battery option is all set to be quite restrictive with 1905mAh added into the mix. Nothing has been revealed as for the talk-time and the browsing limit but the gadget in all readiness has to be charged atleast twice a day given the meager power allotment.
The latest version of the Lumia is more of Microsoft ally which would be extremely utilitarian as for the dual SIM functionality on offer. This is what makes the gadget extremely prudent whereas the acceptable front camera would certainly come in handy for the customers. The processor may be a tad simplistic but the budget range is all set to be on the lower side, thus justifying the range and size of the innards in play.
