HTC has launched three new smart phones in the Desire series, the Desire 820, Desire 820Q as well as the Desire 816G. As an extension to the Desire 816, the company has launched a cheaper (mid budget) version known as the 816G Dual-SIM.
The Desire 816G is available in India at the price tag of Rs. 18,990*/-. Let’s find out if the HTC Desire 816G will make it or break the deal in India?
The Desire 816G comes with the latest version of the Android Operating System, the 4.4 KitKat. Design and Display:
The Desire 816G measures 156.60 x 78.70 x 7.90 mm which is slim enough as smart phones go. The device weighs 158 grams and looks pretty good. The design is shared from its older cousin, the Desire 816. Most HTC devices have always shared a unique design and a touch of sophistication with them, no wonder why this brand is gaining all the reputation it deserves.
In terms of the Screen, the Desire 816G has a huge 5.5 inch LCD capacitive touch screen with 720 x 1280 pixels resolution as well as 16 Million colors integration with Multi touch capability. You might also like the Dual frontal stereo speakers with built-in amplifiers on this device named HTC Boom Sound that sound very good. HTC has done a tremendous job with the speakers mated on to most of their prominent smart phones. There are volume rockers on the left hand side of the device along with the power button. The placement of the primary camera on the rear end side of the device shares a similarity with the iPhone. There is an LED Flash that resides just behind the primary rear facing camera; there is a Micro USB provision along with a 3.5 mm headphone jack provision on this device.

There are really good smart phone rivals that offer more features than this device and seem quite interesting. But, when it comes to offering a good battery that lasts long, well, most devices fail. Thankfully, this smart phone has a decent battery with a decent back up. So, it surely feels a lot friendlier in the users hand than plugged into the charging socket.
